Gingham Style & Link Up

This post is sponsored by Red Dress Boutique. As always, all opinions are my own.

Happy Friday, darlings!

I hope you enjoyed my Psy reference in the title haha! I love that song <3 As you can see, today is all about my favorite summer print...gingham! It reminds me picnic in the park and lazy days by the pool. :-) Also, my husband decided that he wanted to experiment with some very wide shots for this post. What do you think?

Outfit Details:

Dress: Red Dress Boutique (under $40! - also comes in red) c/o | Shoes: Kohl's  (old - similar here) | Handbag: Kate Spade (old - pink version here) | Hat: Two Baked Buns c/o | Necklace: Rocksbox | Bracelet: RocksBox | Ring: Etsy (similar here)

If I had to narrow down my top three favorite prints ever, they would include florals, polka dots and gingham. Gingham just has this cuteness to it that looks both preppy and put-together. It looks adorable in every nearly color and mixes easily with other colors and patterns. It reminds me of slow summer days spent relaxing outdoors whether that's laying under a tree reading a book, lounging by the pool with friends, or picnicking with family at the lake. Gingham is a fun, happy print that is a constant reminder of good times so you imagine how happy I was to find this dress. Not only does it have the most adorable print, but it also has bell sleeves and two bows in the back. Perfection! This dress also comes in red and is super affordable at only $38! I wore it last weekend and got SO many compliments.

For this look in particular, I wanted to keep it simple with a black and white color combo. I added a heeled sandal, white bow bag, and the most adorable boater hat ever. I have a thing for boater hats (I own three!) and actually customized this one. It's the cutest thing ever and I love it so much! I added a simple statement necklace, jeweled bracelet and dainty gold ring to finish it off! Even though I chose to keep this look simple, there are literally a hundred ways you could style it! It's such a great base for any outfit. Here are some other ways you can style it:

1.) Add a pop of color such as fucshia or yellow for a cute and seasonally appropriate outfit
2.) Add a larger pattern, such a floral print handbag (in either black/white or with color), for a fun take on print mixing
3.) Add a jeweled belt or funky shoe to make a statement
4.) Top with a leather jacket and flat ankle boots for an edgy look
5.) Top with a textured scarf and tall boots for a cozy Fall look
6.) Layer a tulle skirt over the dress (keeping the top portion as the "top") and a sparkly necklace for a super glam look

I hope you all have an amazing weekend! I'm heading to the beach today with my little brother to relax and enjoy our freedom before school starts ha! :-)

What are your weekend plans?

xo
