Guest Blogger: House of Illusions

Hi Beauties!

I hope you all are having the best week! Today we are traveling from Lucerne, Switzerland to Lauterbrunnen in the Swiss Alps. I am SO excited about this location as it's always been a dream of mine to see them in person and I'm hoping to fit in a paragliding session while my husband watches from below (haha! He is so scared of heights). You can follow along with our adventures on Instagram :-)

Today Agnes from House of Illusions is taking over the blog. She is talking about the nautical trend, which is so perfect for Summer and how you can achieve it. Check out her tips below!

Getting Nautical This Summer

Hi Everyone! Im Agnes, a personal style blogger from House of Illusions and Im thrilled to be doing a guest post for Lizzie in Lace.

The nautical trend is everywhere this season and tends to resurface every summer. Its a look that can easily be created by using existing pieces and only splurging on one statement accessory to tie the whole look together. Here are some of my tips for getting that nautical look without having to break the bank.

First off, try to work with pieces that are already in your closet. The nautical look is really big on reds, navy blues and of course white. So if you have stripes in any of these colours youre already ahead of the game. Another piece that works really well with this look is the LWD, which you probably already have in your closet as its a staple this season. A white dress will go a long way, especially if you have a plain and simple one (like pictured here) with a lace up front - in my opinion these dresses have beach vibes written all over them and this will serve as great base for your look. Next, add a light coloured hat, whether it be a panama, boater, or even a wide brimmed floppy hat with a pair of sandals. Youve got your basic beach look now and all you need to do is add a nautical themed accessory. I achieved my look by purchasing a striped anchor tote ($20), which not only completes my nautical look, but will also serve as a great tote bag for whenever I hit the beach. You can also opt for nautical themed jewelry, or even a headscarf to tweak this trend to your own liking.

And last but not least, location is everything. Once youve put together your nautical look head out to your local beach, boardwalk, marina, local harbour, or anywhere else that has water to enjoy your trendy look to its fullest. I hope you enjoyed my guest post on creating nautical vibes. Comment below to let us know what you think, or if you have any other great suggestions for getting that perfect nautical look.
