How to Resize a Hat

*Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, however I did receive a sample for my review. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.*

Hat: Callanan Hats c/o
Dress: J.Crew
Purse: Kate Spade
Bracelet: Chloe & Isabel c/o

I don't know about you but I LOVE hats! I think they are both functional and fashionable and add so much to an outfit.

But there is one problem...

They are always TOO BIG!

I love the excitement of getting a new hat, only to be met by the disappointment of trying it on. For YEARS, I wore hats that were way too big for me...or just didn't wear them at all. I even contemplated getting rid of them because they didn't fit. After discovering this little secret, I resized all of my hats and can now wear all of them without any problems!

*Please note that this hat in particular is actually resizable without the use of this tutorial. The hat used in this tutorial has a ribbon in the back that can be tied together to tighten the sweatband for a custom fit. Genius! This hat was only used for this tutorial to show you how you can customize the fit of a hat if this ribbon is not present. Enjoy!

Ultimate Guide to Yosemite

*Please note: All photos were taken by me (and are un-edited....say whaaa?!)*

Happy Monday everyone!

Many of you know that we kicked off our "Summer Vacation Extravaganza" a few weeks ago when we traveled to Yosemite. Since then, I have received an insane amount of requests asking for suggestions for upcoming trips and general information for future traveling so I thought I would share all of this info in a post! Sorry, no outfit photos today :-( haha! Come back Wednesday for that! :-D

I have been traveling to Yosemite once or twice a year for the past few years being as it's my husband's absolute favorite place in the world! He would probably live there if they'd let him. Yosemite is famous for it's glacially carved granite mountains and breathtaking waterfalls among other things and we are extremely lucky to live only 3 1/2 hours away, so we can easily access it anytime of the year. This is such a dreamy and magical place that it's no surprise that visitors fly in from all over the world making it the one the most famous and heavily visited national parks in the United States.

In this post, I will share the ins and outs of Yosemite Valley including where to stay, what to do and where to go.

Cleaning Out Your Closet

A recent rise in temperatures has led to my annual Spring closet clean out. I don't know if it's the blooming flowers, sunny skies or the upcoming Spring Break, but springtime puts a little more pep  in my step and brighter smile on my face. It feels like a new beginning and with new beginnings, we must rid ourselves of the past (ie. declutter). Cleaning out my closet not only frees up space for things that I actually wear making it easier to get dressed each morning, but it also gets rid of unneeded stress. You know what they say, "Declutter your closet, declutter your life." ;-)

In this post, I will break the down the two steps needed for a successful closet clean out. This is part of my style series, so if you haven't checked out "Defining Your Personal Style" Part One: The Quiz and Part Two: The Results, I recommend reading those before you start the process of a closet cleanout. With your personal style more defined, you will be able to declutter your closet much more easily and efficiently.

Yay!

DIY: The Sequined Hanger

I'm sure many of you have seen those gorgeous sequined hangers all over your instagram and pinterest feed and have wondered...where do I get that?! I know that I have! Of course there are many Etsy shops that you could purchase them from, but what's the fun in that? I love making things  myself (I DIYed most of my wedding if you recall from this post) so I thought I would give it a shot because you know, pretty clothes need pretty hangers! Today I'm going to show you how to make your own gorgeous masterpiece with this simple tutorial.

Summer Vacation

School is back in session and summer vacation is now a thing of the past. However, despite my insane schedule, we did manage to see some spectacular sights, both locally and non-locally. I'm here to take you on a tour of my vacation and give you a few more things to put on your bucket list. :-D (No pretty outfits today, just beautiful locations!) Keep in mind that pictures are unedited...straight from my camera so you can see the natural beauty of these locations.

California

Sequoia National Park

Normally we go camping in this beautiful forest, but instead opted for a last minute day trip and took my mom and brother, who had both never been. Only a few hours from where I live, Sequoia boasts the thickest (circumference around) trees in the world, a gorgeous underground cave and an interesting rock formation called Moro Rock.
