I hope you all had the best weekend! <3 Today I'm talking about the perfect date night garment....the "little black dress," of course and why it's such an important item to have in your closet!

There are some classic pieces that every woman should have in her closet... a white tee, the perfect pair of jeans, a neutral coat anddd....a little black dress. If you were to look in my closet, you would see A LOT of white/cream tones and a rainbow of color! I just love clothing that is light, bright and happy and therefore, don't really gravitate toward darker colors such as black. As I was cleaning out my closet a few weeks ago, I had an epiphany. I looked at the insanely small amount of black that I had and wondered why I was so scared of this color. I came to the realization that I strayed away from black because I thought it was "too safe." I wanted to stand out from the crowd and thought that wearing black would make me blend in too much. I also thought black wasn't "feminine enough" and that it looked "too harsh" against my skin. I came to the conclusion that I was wrong. Completely.
Black can look elevated and sophisticated. It can look ultra feminine and flattering. And it can stand out just as much as a colorful outfit if styled right. The trick is to have a bit of texture. I'm a huge texture person and I love making combinations with lighter neutrals, but never experimented with black since I was so afraid of it.
Now back to the "little black dress"...
I always knew it was an essential but I could never find the perfect one. I am happy to say that I have FNALLY found my "little black dress!" For so long, I listened to what other's ideas were about this essential and it did not excite me. However, I discovered that I could have my own take on this classic...reminiscent of the feminine style that I love so much. A black dress consisting of detailed lace in a number of variations. It was love at first sight. <3
I found this beauty on Stylewe and to say that I'm impressed would be an understatement. The quality is absolutely incredible! Each garment has it's own size chart so it's important to compare their measurements with yours to ensure a good fit. I ordered a larger size than I normally wear, but the fit is just perfect!! I'm so happy that I have finally found my little black dress of my dreams! I will definitely be shopping with Stylewe in the future <3
