It's the start of yet another week. The weather has been favorable lately, so my husband and I went on a hike yesterday. The hills were incredibly green, especially considering the lack of rain around here, and the grasses were speckled with flowers in oranges, yellows and purples. My allergies were going crazy and there were bees flying around my face at all times, but it was so worth it. Hiking to the top gave me a sense of accomplishment, a sense of purpose and a burst of energy. Plus, the views weren't half bad either. I would take a hike over a treadmill any day.

Anyway, while my sister was photographing me, she mentioned that I looked like a little fairy. I thought she was joking about my height, but upon reviewing these photos, I realized that she was right. The background is perfect and compliments this fairytale like outfit. I dress like a fairy most days, I suppose. In a town of t-shirts and blue jeans, it's nice to stand out sometimes. In the past few years, I have realized that I am not like most. I wear what I want without worrying a second about what others think. I have never been afraid to step outside the box and be viewed at as different. I think it's a positive thing to stand out against the crowd. You can tell a lot about a person by what they choose to wear. I like to think that I project confidence with my outfits, which is funny because I have never been a confident person. I want to portray to people that I am fun, creative, and approachable and I think this outfit hits all of those marks.

I really love grey. I think it's a beautiful and flattering neutral tone. I have such a love for the combination of sweaters and tulle skirts. There is something so beautiful about the mix of textures, which is important when creating a monochrome outfit. Of course, I picked some of my faves from Lauren Conrad's line to pair together. The grey pointelle sweater actually has multicolored speckles in it, which is fun and the skirt, well you know...love at first sight. And those shoes! They are a great heel height for day time and are embellished with bows. I topped off the ensemble with silver jewelry including a great ring that I thrifted from an antique store downtown. Yes I have a closet full of tulle skirts, but who wouldn't want that? Feeling like a princess (or in this case, fairy) everyday is okay in my book. <3
