How to Grow Your Instagram - Part One

As promised, I am starting an Instagram series today yay! I have touched on this topic before but with the excess of questions I've gotten lately, I thought I'd share again :-) For the next few Wednesdays, I will talking about all things Instagram including tips and tricks and how to effectively grow your following along with how I personally edit my photos and what I do for my Instagram on a daily basis. So what qualifies me to give you advice on Instagram? Well, in the last 8 months, I have grown my following by 600% and it has been consistently increasing each month. I have learned a few things through extensive research over the years and through my own trial and error. I know that growing an Instagram account is something a lot of people struggle with (I was one of them too) and it may seem hopeless with the Instagram algorithm ever-changing, but it's definitely possible and it will open up so many more opportunities for your business and blog, which is why it is SO important.

How to Grow Your Instagram Following



In the previous post (here), we talked about tips and tricks on how to keep your Instagram looking sharp. For this post, we will discuss different tactics used to grow your Instagram following.

Firstly, why do people want to grow their Instagram accounts in the first place?

*If you are a blogger, having more followers means that you are more likely to have brands reach out to you...which could also mean potential paid sponsorships and other exciting opportunities.

*If you are a business, having more followers means that you could potentially make more money. And when those customers get excited about your product, they tell other people who could possibly be future customers.

There are many ways to grow your Instagram, but not all are created equally. You definitely want to gain followers that are interested in your brand (or blog). And engagement is huge! Probably more so than follower count so it is important to attract those that will interact with you.

Today, I wanted to talk a bit about Instagram. As a blogger, it's super important to utilize social media outlets and since Instagram is the most used (by far!) and most visual (best for marketing our blog content), I thought it would be fitting to do a post on this amazing media.


Don't get me wrong...other social media sites like Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and others have their place. Each of them have a specific purpose. Although I find that my most successful media is Instagram, this does not mean that it is the "best" or "most successful" for everyone. Instagram is more comfortable for me to use now that I finally understand it and I'm here to share my tips and tricks with you!
