There was a time when I never thought I'd be able to wear a maxi dress. At 4'11", its hard to find anything that fits..let alone a long dress! I thought they would make me look even shorter and stumpy. However, once I actually tried one, I was surprised to find how flattering they were and how much taller I looked wearing one! Pretty soon, one became many and now  they are amongst my favorite silouettes.

When I started the boutique, I once again, was afraid to try the Ana maxi dress out of fear that it would be way too long (at least that's what everyone had told me). I threw on some ankle boots and the heel height was perfect for the dress. This one in particular was VERY hard to find. It's actually an old pattern and finding one is like finding a needle in a haystack. But I did and I'm so glad! The color is so rich and beautiful! Even though I have tons of printed garments, they mostly consist of florals, polka dots and a cutesy print here and there. I am not a fan of crazy, bold prints or the mixing of a lot of colors. This print was a little outside my comfort zone, but I really love it and am so glad that it has a home in my closet. Like any other good Fall outfit, I accessorized with my favorite hat, boots and gold jewelry.

  1. I always felt the same way with maxi dresses, but found they actually actually help lengthen you! I still have to wear a heel usually though. I love these colors combined together! Im not one for bold prints either, but this dress is just so fun!

  2. I actually thought of you and your lovely dress styling the other night, what a lovely feminine dress here, complete with boho features, I just love it. Thanks for commenting on my blog a few moments ago, link ups take time to learn but are well worth it. It was sad trying to figure out the link up thing on my own as "big" bloggers wouldn't help me when I e-mailed them. Now I am glad to receive e-mails from other bloggers wanting to learn how to link up as I don't want them to feel how I did, lost and figuring it out on my own. So glad to link up to your link up each week, see you tomorrow.
