SheIn Review

Happy Monday! Hope you all are having a great start to your week :-)

After styling three of their pieces, I thought that today was the perfect opportunity to review Shein. Below are a few photos of the garments and my honest opinion about each one of them (this is not a sponsored post). So if you have thought about purchasing from this shop but have been curious about someone else's experience, then this post is for you!

Featured dress: Shein c/o

This outfit was my first impression of the company. I thought that this dress matched my aesthetic well with it's ruffles, beadwork and apricot color.

The Garment:

When I opened the package, I was expecting a light pink/peach color but it was actually more of a nude. I thought that it might clash with my skin, but I actually really liked it on. It's very neutral but the details made it stand out.

Fit:

This only comes in "one-size". The material is free-flowing so I can see how it would fit a variety of sizes. Initially, I was worried about the top part being too small and that the length would be too short. The top part fit perfectly (even with room to spare) and the length was perfect as well. I am 4'11" and it was just above the knee. I do think it may be a bit too short for the taller ladies, but it's great for petites! The material itself is very loose. I thought that the extra material didn't do my shape justice, so I belted it. I do think it would look super cute unbelted for those that have smaller hips.

Quality:

I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first time receiving anything from this shop, but I was pleasantly surprised! It seemed to be well made for the price. It has a solid layer of knife pleated chiffon that flares out to produce a ruffle effect on the bottom. Underneath is a slip that has a piece of pleated chiffon, a piece of tulle and another piece of chiffon. It looks like the bead work on top is hand sewn with a bit of embroidery. It's a very pretty dress that I feel that I could also wear other ways including as a top and as a skirt. It also comes in white!

Featured Skirt: Shein c/o

The Garment:

The beautiful color is what caught my eye initially, but when I saw this for the first time I was wowed! It is just so beautiful in person and I feel that I could wear it with a lot of different things.

Fit:

I am normally an XS in skirts, but the smallest this one came in was a small. (For reference, my waist is about 25 inches). I had a bad experience with another company regarding sizing, so I feared it would be too small! Not so. It fit just fine. It is a bit big for me, but not to where I need it taken in. I would say it's true to size. The length was a bit too long for me (about mid-calf), but would be perfect on the taller ladies.

Quality:

The quality on this one was amazing! The material thick and sturdy (not at all cheap-looking and shiny like some other reviewers noted on the site). It has a zipper and a slip underneath. This one was definitely more expensive looking than what the price says. The color is bright and fun (very true to the picture). It also comes in green and black!

Featured Dress: Shein c/o

The Garment:

I will say that this one was a bit different than pictured on the website. The site showed a very full silhouette, while in reality it was not (maybe there was a petticoat underneath?). Still, very pretty nonetheless.

Fit:

I am an XS in dresses, but small was the smallest size they had. Again, I wasn't familiar with sizing because some places can be inconsistent. When I tried it on, it was actually too big which means that it runs true to size. I chose to wear a belt to cinch it in a bit and thought it also looked very cute! The length was perfect. Of course, too long if I were to wear flats, but perfect with my boots that have a 3 1/2 inch heel.

Quality:

I did think the material would be a bit thicker. The material was thin, but flowy and still warm, surprisingly! I am actually glad that it was thinner because it makes a great dress for spring, summer and fall. I wouldn't want something that would be too hot. I, however, did not like the material itself and there wasn't a lining, but this is the cheapest item price-wise that I have tried and I believe that it matches the price point. The pattern is spot on from the web site. The colors are vibrant and beautiful and are exactly what drew me to this dress in the first place.

Overall Quality:

I'd say the items are good quality compared to the price. It seems that the higher the price, the higher the quality. These are not forever items, but trendy fast fashion, which is what a lot of girls prefer. I do think the skirt is an exception though, the quality is amazing for the price! I think that the quality is comparable to Forever 21 and the like.

Pricing:

Prices on these garments are amazing! In fact, the shop offers discounts and sometimes additional discounts on all clothing. If you shopping on a budget and love cute clothes, then this is definitely the store for you. They seem to have something to fit everyone's style as well. Very impressed with their options!

Shipping:

Very fast considering where it's coming from. The clothing ships out from China, so you can expect a it longer to receive your items than if you were to order something from the U.S. I have shopping with other Chinese retailers and  SheIn's shipping is hard to beat. It usually takes about a week to receive the package.

Overall Experience:

I can honestly say that I have had a really great experience with SheIn. I have talked to a few different employees and they have all been super helpful and friendly. The clothes are cute and are very affordable, which is important when fashion changes almost daily. I already have a few things picked out for my next shopping trip and I am very happy to have discovered them!
