Wow! I am finally back! I feel like it's been forever and I sure have missed my blogger friends!

First off, Oregon is beautiful....full of the greenest trees and bluest rivers. I did a lot of exploring on this trip and had a lot of firsts. We headed back to northern California to check out the Redwoods, the oldest living trees in the world (and verrrry tall)! Just think Jurassic Park. From there, we went to Crescent City, a town on northern CA coast and much different than our southern CA beaches. Whereas in SoCal, the beaches are sandy, flat and full of palm trees and in NorCal, they are rocky, surrounded by pine trees and have cliffs overlooking the expansive pacific. Both are equally beautiful, but different. We also checked out a small beach town called Brookings just above the  Oregon border. We found an alley lined with a rainbow of bright hydrangeas and picked a few bunches as a keepsake. Last stop was Dairy Queen for my first blizzard....and I have been craving one ever since! On our second adventure to Crater lake, we passed the beautiful Rogue River and watched as the white water rapids made their way through a river carved canyon and turned into many spectacular shades of blue. (We later rafted down this river.) Crater Lake itself is a gorgeous spectacle. An amazing landmark made from an erupted volcano, the water collected in the crater is the deepest cobalt blue you've ever seen. It reminded me of a piece of satin with it's sheen and smoothness. Although, I saw a lot of amazing things, my trip was not all fun. My grandpa was hospitalized for the entirety of the trip. He has made some improvements but still needs a lot of prayer, so if you wouldn't mind keeping him in your thoughts, I would appreciate it!

On to my outfit: So this number has been in my closet for a few years and remains one of my all time favorite dresses. I often wear it for fourth of July barbeques, but also pull it out when I'm feeling a little sassy. I love the retro vibe it give off with it's vintage shape and polka dot scattered fabric. I equally love the way it's been modernized with the draw string shoulder strap that fastens at the back of the neck. The ruffled bust line is my favorite detail because it's so unique and flattering (especially for us small chested ladies). The dress is a showstopper on it's own with many delicate details, so shoes were kept nude and jewelry was kept to a minimum. My normal handbag was instead replaced with some fun balloons. Normally, my hair and make-up are pretty simple, but I had such a blast making myself over for our pin-up inspired shoot.

Hope you are having a great week! :-D
